A defining moment for Crystal Creek Homes: Black Birch Heights launches the community’s first condominium homes

346 new condominiums from Crystal Creek Homes launched in Taza Park today, broadening housing options in a community village drawing buyers to the edge of southwest Calgary with its blend of nature, culture, and connection

Tsuut’ina, AB – May 23, 2026 — Taza Development Corp. and Crystal Creek Homes opened sales today for Black Birch Heights, a 346-home, two-building condominium development at the heart of Taza Park. This launch marks a major milestone for one of the largest First Nation-led developments in Canada, expanding options for buyers just beyond southwest Calgary.

Designed as two six-storey buildings, Black Birch Heights offers one- and two-bedroom homes, many with mountain and river-valley views. The architecture draws from the surrounding landscape, featuring 10-foot top-floor ceilings, corner balconies, and rooftop amenity spaces. Den options, private balconies, underground parkade, and a convenient on-site dog wash complete the offering.

This is the latest step forward for Taza, a 1,200-acre community spanning three diverse, yet interconnected villages: Taza Park, Buffalo Run and The Crossing. With residents already calling Taza home, Black Birch Heights opens condo living at Taza Park for the first time, broadening the range of homes available and enhancing the community’s residential profile as it evolves from a masterplan to a thriving destination.

“Taza was envisioned as a community where economic opportunity, cultural integrity and quality of life would advance together, and Black Birch Heights is a clear expression of that vision,” said James Robertson, President, Taza Development. “This launch broadens our residential mix, strengthens Taza Park’s position in the regional housing market, and creates lasting value for the Tsuut’ina Nation. It is the result of a partnership built for the long term, and it sets the foundation for the next phase of growth at Taza.” The launch was marked by a public celebration that drew current and future residents, Tsuut’ina Nation members and visitors from across the region to Taza Park. Guests gathered to the sound of live music, sampled locally sourced baked goods and coffee, and moved between activities throughout the afternoon.

At the centre of it all, Tsuut’ina Nation artist Nathan P. Meguinis, whose work bridges traditional cultural heritage and contemporary visual language, led a collaborative mural that grew through the day as guests added their own contributions. By the time the launch closed, the finished piece stood as a living record of who showed up to mark the moment: a single artwork shaped by many hands, rooted in the same land the new homes will rise from.

“Black Birch Heights is an exciting opportunity to bring a new style of home to Taza Park, in a location that is already becoming one of the most meaningful and thoughtfully planned communities just west of Calgary,” said Justin Bobier, President, Crystal Creek Homes. “This project allows us to offer homes for buyers at different stages of life, from first-time homeowners to move-up buyers and downsizers, while contributing to a place shaped by connection, culture, and long-term vision. We are proud to be part of Taza’s continued growth and to help create homes that reflect the energy and future of this community.”

Black Birch Heights broadens the homes available at Taza Park and reflects the principles that have shaped Taza from day one: community, culture and connection to the land. It is one more step in a long-term vision shared by the Tsuut’ina Nation and Canderel, a vision now coming to life as Taza Park grows from a community in planning to a community in motion.

The Black Birch Heights show suite is open now, where visitors can tour the floor plans, see the finishes firsthand and meet the Crystal Creek Homes sales team. Visit taza.ca to learn more and book a tour.
